It can feel overwhelming when deciding between fillings, crowns, or bridges. Each option has its purpose, and the right choice depends on what’s best for your unique smile and long-term dental health. At Desert Creek Dental, we believe it’s not just about restoring teeth but about restoring your confidence and comfort.
Whether you’re dealing with a small cavity or something more complex, the goal is to guide you through the options, explain the benefits, and help you make a decision that feels right for you. Your smile deserves nothing less than the care it truly needs.
We use tooth-colored fillings to fill cavities caused by tooth decay. We recommend a dental filling when one of your teeth has decay that needs to be removed. After we remove the decay, we’ll place layers of composite resin to seal the area and restore your tooth’s function and aesthetic beauty.
We use dental crowns to completely cover a damaged tooth. If your tooth is severely decayed and a dental filling isn’t sufficient, or if you’ve undergone root canal therapy, a dental crown supports your natural tooth. You can even use dental crowns for cosmetic purposes if your teeth are misshapen, worn, cracked, broken, or discolored. Dental crowns look and function like your natural teeth, so no one will know.
We use dental bridges to replace one or more missing teeth in a row. For this procedure, we place dental crowns on the two adjacent teeth and attach prosthetic teeth where your natural teeth are missing. A dental bridge is often your best option when you have gaps in your smile or have undergone an extraction.
If you want to learn more about fillings vs. crowns vs. bridges, the experienced dental team at Desert Creek Dental will gladly assist you! We strive to educate our patients about their treatment options so they can make informed decisions about their oral health.
