Can you help me with my teeth-grinding habit?
It is common to grind or clench your teeth during moments of stress or concentration. But for some, teeth grinding (bruxism) is a chronic problem that can quickly take its toll on the health and structure of your smile.
The fact is that your upper and lower teeth should only be in contact for a few minutes a day while chewing. Unfortunately, teeth grinding often occurs during sleep, and you aren’t even aware that the problem exists. It only becomes apparent if you experience headaches or neck pain, or your Queen Creek dentist points out signs of damage.
Teeth grinding is destructive and can add years of wear to your dental enamel. Since our long-term goal is to preserve your teeth’ structure for as long as possible, we must take prompt steps to protect them from the damage of teeth grinding.
At Desert Creek Dental, we offer a straightforward, conservative solution to bruxism. We can’t necessarily stop the action of grinding, but we can prevent significant damage to your teeth with an occlusal guard (night guard) that you wear while you sleep.
This device looks like a mouthguard and is customized using impressions of your teeth. It protects your teeth by preventing the upper and lower jaws from coming into contact with each other. Without the force of teeth grinding, your jaw can relax, and you’ll experience much-needed relief.

Do you accept my insurance?
We take most PPO insurance plans and would be happy to verify your eligibility and benefits prior to your visit to our Queen Creek dental office. Even if we aren’t in-network with your plan, oftentimes, you can still use out-of-network benefits at our office, and we are happy to file your claims for you.
We have many patients who choose to go out of their insurance network to receive care at our office because of the value and level of care we provide.
For a complete listing of insurances we accept, please visit our financial page. We update this page periodically, and if your provider isn’t currently listed here, please call our dental office, as we may accept it.
If you are uninsured, we offer a Dental Savings Plan that includes free routine preventive dentistry, like cleanings and exams, and discounts on most services if you join.
If you would like to finance your dental treatment, we also work with CareCredit and Lending Club. Both offer extended payment plans and loans that enable you to spread the cost of treatment over several months. If you pay the balance in the agreed period (usually six months to a year), you will not be charged any interest.
Do you offer a dental savings plan?
Yes! Dr. Ismail Pardazi is committed to providing quality care that every patient can reap the benefits from and enjoy. Our Dental Savings Plan allows patients to receive the care they need at a reasonable rate, regardless of their insurance provider. There’s no waiting period, no claim forms, no co-pays, and no annual maximums.

How much is a cleaning without insurance?

For an established patient who doesn’t need as many x-rays and just needs a regular exam, the cost is $273. Emergency Dentistry
If I stab my gums or the roof of my mouth while eating, is that a dental emergency?
ou know that feeling when something doesn’t feel quite right in your mouth, but you’re not sure if it’s serious enough to call the dentist? You might wonder if you’re overreacting, but here’s the thing: it’s better to reach out for peace of mind than wait until it’s too late.
So, is it a dental emergency if you stab your gums or the roof of your mouth while eating?
Should You Call the Dentist?
If you stab your gums or the roof of your mouth while eating, it’s not usually considered a dental emergency. Most minor soft tissue injuries will heal on their own. We recommend the following treatments:
- Rinse with warm salt water to keep the area clean.
- Take over-the-counter pain relievers to manage pain.
- Eat soft foods such as yogurt and oatmeal until your mouth heals.
If you experience any of the following, you should contact us right away:
- Excessive bleeding that doesn’t stop on its own
- Severe pain that doesn’t go away with over-the-counter pain relievers
- Signs of infection, such as swelling, redness, or pus at the site

Sedation Dentistry
Do you offer sedation dentistry?
Yes! At Desert Creek Dental, your comfort is our priority, and sedation dentistry plays a crucial role in helping our Queen Creek patients get the care they need. For many who deal with dental anxiety, sedation is the key that makes it possible for them to comfortably and confidently receive treatment.
Because we offer two methods, we can customize yours to fit your individual needs.
- Nitrous oxide: Commonly known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide is designed to help you relax through your appointment without putting you to sleep. As a gas that you inhale, nitrous oxide is fast-acting to provide immediate relaxation but doesn’t produce drowsy after-effects.
- Oral sedation: If you have deeper anxiety, Dr. Pardazi can prescribe a sedative for you to take an hour before your appointment. You will feel very relaxed, and we often combine oral sedation with nitrous for a comfortable experience.
Can Sedation Dentistry in Queen Creek, AZ Help You?
Almost anyone can benefit from sedation dentistry, which helps them get the essential treatments they need. If you would like to learn more, please call Desert Creek Dental or book with us online.
Teeth Whitening
Are whitening strips bad for your teeth?
Whitening strips are a popular over-the-counter option for achieving a brighter smile, but many wonder if they are safe for their teeth. At Desert Creek Dental, we provide insights on teeth whitening in Queen Creek to help you make informed decisions about your oral health.
Whitening strips contain peroxide-based gels that bleach the enamel of your teeth, effectively removing surface stains and discoloration. When used correctly, these strips are generally safe for most people. However, improper use or overuse can lead to potential issues.
Overusing whitening strips can cause tooth sensitivity, as the peroxide can penetrate the enamel and reach the dentin, the inner part of the tooth. Additionally, excessive use can lead to enamel erosion, making your teeth more susceptible to cavities and damage.
It’s also important to note that whitening strips may not work uniformly on all teeth, especially if dental restorations like crowns or veneers do not respond to bleaching agents.

What is the cost of Zoom Whitening?
The price for Zoom Whitening is $399. It includes a set of take-home trays and additional whitening gels for touch-ups.
What is the process for Zoom Whitening?
The entire professional teeth whitening process takes about an hour and a half. The patient has whitening gel applied and is put under a fluorescent light for 20 minutes. After this time, the gel is removed, fresh gel is applied, and they go under the light again for 20 more minutes. We do this 4 times if the patient can tolerate it, but sometimes we only do 3, 20-minute sessions if the patient has a lot of sensitivity. We then take impressions to make a custom take-home tray and give them tubes of whitening gel they can use for touch-ups.
Invisalign Clear Braces
What is Invisalign®, and how does it work?
Imagine waking up every day with the confidence of knowing your smile is exactly what you want it to be. Clear aligners can make it a reality for many teens and adults with mild to moderate orthodontic concerns.
Invisalign® isn’t just about straightening your teeth; it’s about giving you the freedom to smile without hesitation, to speak without feeling self-conscious, and to embrace every moment with the confidence you deserve.
What Is Invisalign?
Invisalign uses a series of clear plastic aligners to straighten your teeth gently. You’ll wear each set of aligners for a few weeks before switching to the next set. You’ll have straight teeth and a beautiful smile by the end of your treatment.
Here’s how it works:
- You’ll wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day, removing them to eat, brush, and floss your teeth.
- You’ll periodically visit your Queen Creek dentist so they can assess your progress, but you won’t have to worry about frequent visits to change bulky brackets and wires.
- Once your treatment is complete, you will wear a retainer to prevent your teeth from shifting back into their misaligned position.
Want to Learn More about Invisalign in Queen Creek, AZ?
When you’re ready to determine if clear aligner therapy is right for your smile, we’d be happy to assist you! Our Queen Creek dental office can assess your situation and create a treatment plan to help you achieve straighter teeth and a healthier smile.

Dental Implants
Am I a candidate for dental implants?
You should come into our dental office for a comprehensive consultation to ensure candidacy.
Considerations for candidacy include:
- General health
- Jawbone integrity
- Sinus placement
Of course, health, jawbone density, and problematic sinus placement do not rule you out for dental implants, but may indicate you’ll need pretreatments to proceed.
Dental Implants in Queen Creek: Consultation and Treatment
Your consultation includes a general checkup, potential x-rays, and answers to your questions about implants or tooth replacement. This checkup provides information about costs and what to expect on your implant journey.
If you proceed with dental implants, your dentist schedules you for placement surgery.
On implant day, provided you don’t need pretreatments, the dentist places replacement tooth roots into the jawbone. This is an image-guided procedure and is not painful. We use anesthesia to ensure a numb placement site.
After the anesthesia wears off, you may notice mild swelling and discomfort, but this is not lasting. You can take an over-the-counter pain reliever for relief.
After implants integrate into the jawbone, we cap them with dental crowns or implant-retained prosthetics, such as implant-supported dentures.

Are dental implants painful?
If you’re considering dental implants in Queen Creek, the good news is that advancements in dental technology have made the process more comfortable than ever.
During Implant Surgery in Queen Creek
Dental implant placement is typically performed under local anesthesia, which numbs the area and ensures that you don’t feel pain during the surgery. Some patients report feeling pressure or minor discomfort but not pain. If you’re particularly anxious, Desert Creek Dental offers sedation options to help you relax.
After Implant Surgery
It’s normal to experience some soreness or mild discomfort for a few days following the procedure. This is part of the natural healing process and can usually be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers. Following our post-procedure instructions will help minimize discomfort and promote healing.
Long-Term Implant Comfort
Once healed, dental implants feel and function like natural teeth. Most patients find that any initial discomfort is well worth the long-term benefits of having a stable, secure, and natural-looking smile.
Do You Have Dental Implant Questions?
If you have concerns about pain or discomfort related to dental implants in Queen Creek, your dentist will be happy to discuss your options and ensure a comfortable experience.
How much are dental implants?
The total cost for these has many variables. Dr. Pardazi doesn’t do implants in our office; he refers that out and then does the implant crown when the patient is ready for that step. We refer to an oral surgeon or periodontist, and they handle the extraction, bone graft, and actual metal implant. When that has healed, Dr. Pardazi will do the crown. The total cost of all 4 of these pieces runs in the $4000-5000 range, depending on what the patient needs and how complex their case is. This does not account for insurance, which would drop that total cost.
Family Dentistry
What is a deep dental cleaning?
The purpose of professional teeth cleanings at Desert Creek Dental is to help you maintain a healthy smile by eliminating cavity-causing plaque and tartar. If you have mild periodontal disease, called gingivitis, a routine cleaning with one of our gentle hygienists is often enough to resolve it.
However, sometimes a patient comes to our Queen Creek dental office and isn’t even aware that they have gum disease that has already damaged their smile. In this case, routine teeth cleaning wouldn’t be sufficient, and your hygienist would recommend a deep-cleaning procedure called scaling and root planing.
Deep cleaning is more involved because we have to remove every trace of plaque, tartar, and bacteria from your teeth and under your gums and smooth root surfaces. These steps get rid of the infection and also help promote reattachment of gum tissue to your teeth.
Because these steps take time, and we want to ensure your comfort, a deep cleaning takes place over two appointments. Our hygienists are very skilled and gentle and will also numb your gums during treatment, so you don’t feel anything.
Schedule a Dental Cleaning in Queen Creek, AZ
Gum disease is very aggressive, and in a worst-case scenario, can lead to tooth loss. To ensure optimal gum health, we must match your cleaning to your needs, and sometimes a deep cleaning is the best option.
If you aren’t sure which type of teeth cleaning you need, call (480) 987-8768 the team at Desert Creek Dental, and they will be happy to help you.

Fillings, Crowns, and Bridges
How are dental crowns different from veneers?
There are several differences between dental veneers and dental crowns. We use porcelain veneers at our Queen Creek dental office to resolve aesthetic flaws, while we usually recommend crowns to restore damaged teeth.
A porcelain veneer is a thin slice of tooth-shaped ceramic that your cosmetic dentist places on the front surface of a tooth to improve its appearance. The veneer acts as a new tooth surface to change your tooth’s aesthetics.
Dental crowns are tooth-shaped jackets of porcelain that fit over your tooth like a little helmet. Their purpose is to add strength and support to the structure of a damaged, decayed, or broken tooth and protect it from further damage. A crown also makes the tooth usable again so that you can chew with it comfortably and also maintain a healthy dental bite.
The similarities are that crowns and veneers are dental prosthetics, and both can be used as part of an overall plan to improve the shape and appearance of your smile.
Do You Have Questions about Veneers and Crowns in Queen Creek?
If you have a dental problem and still have questions about how crowns and veneers work, don’t hesitate to call our Queen Creek, AZ, dental office. You can book with us online.
Porcelain Veneers
Are dental veneers expensive?
Dental veneers in Queen Creek, AZ, are one of the most popular cosmetic dentistry options. These thin strips of quality porcelain can dramatically transform your smile, giving you a symmetrical and beautiful result.
You can choose to treat one tooth or several, and veneers can be used alone or as part of a smile makeover.
As far as cost, this always varies and for good reasons. Considerations include:
- The number of veneers you want
- Difficulty of placement
- Needed pretreatments
However, because we start you with a consultation, we can share with you any pretreatments you’ll need—if any—to make you a candidate for dental veneers. We can also share how much your treatment will cost following this initial exam.
Fortunately, we work with CareCredit, which allows you to finance your treatment over time. Many CareCredit programs offer interest-free financing. It takes only a few minutes to apply online, and decisions are prompt.

How do I take care of my dental veneers?
We offer various options for cosmetic dentistry in Queen Creek, AZ, including dental veneers. Veneers are a patient favorite because they’re versatile and conceal most aesthetic flaws. Veneers are also popular because they don’t require special upkeep.
Dental veneers in Queen Creek, AZ can conceal the following aesthetic issues:
- Mildly crooked teeth
- Gummy smiles
- Tooth flaws
- Midline misalignment
Veneers are thin but strong ribbons of quality porcelain fitted to the forward surfaces of teeth. They look natural and leave with a symmetrical and beautiful smile.
From there, it just gets better! Upkeep for your veneers is as simple as brushing, flossing, and visiting your dentist for regular preventive checkups.
You should also never use your veneers to twist off a bottle cap or other similar undertakings as with natural teeth.
With excellent oral hygiene and regular checkups, your veneers can last for years, decades, or even for life.
